At the age of 10 years old, Ivan got infected with the Mumps virus. It was summer and all of Ivan’s friends were outside playing and having fun. He had a strong desire to cure his illness and go have fun with this friends.
When Ivan asked his mother for an advice, she told him to think of the virus that he had as an intruder or a “bad guys” inside his body and that he must use his own army to defeat the “bad guys”. Without any doubts, strong desire and full belief in the story, Ivan made a firm decision to beat the bad guys inside his body. His method was simple - lie down and visualize a huge battlefield between the good army and the “bad guys”. After intense visualization he got up and just continued his usual day. The next day the mumps symptoms disappeared without any complications.
At the age of 13 Ivan had a influenza infection. In the middle of the day he got very sick, with body temperatures of 39 °C, fatigue and headache. However, it was the day right before he had to go to a new school which he was very excited about. Strong desire and and previous experience of dealing with infections helped Ivan to recover the next morning without any signs of illness. Refreshed and recovered, Ivan was happy to see his new classmates and school.
At the age of 20, Ivan had a skin problem where red spots were appearing on his chest and neck. For most part it was a cosmetic discomfort which brought certain limitations to Ivan’s life. The skin problem had a strong correlation with his mood and body temperature. Unable to solve the problem through traditional cosmetic solutions, he examined the problem from the psychosomatic perspective. After intensive personal development, Ivan was able to overcome some of his psychological issues. As a result, the skin problem disappeared forever.
These experiences together with research in psychology led Ivan to the conclusion that most physical problems that people have are a result of their adaptation to the environment. Most problems can be cured through a holistic mind-body approach.
In 2002 Ivan joined a psychology program in York University and the continued his education at Baker College, USA. Ivan did not remain focused on the purely academic aspect of human behavior, but actively looked for effective and efficient ways to improve the quality of living via mental training and personal development. In order to broaden his experience, Ivan complemented his formal education with numerous classes in personal development, leadership, motivational training, business and various psychology courses. As of 2010, Ivan's focus is on Neuro Linguistic Programmin, Positive Psychology, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
